If you’re an “Arrow” fan and have been waiting for Prometheus to raise the stakes ever so slightly, know this: Your moment is coming. He’ll be doing just that on next week’s “So It Begins,” an episode title that feels almost perfect for a “Transformers” character more so than anyone in the Greg Berlanti – CW universe.
This episode will be your most important Prometheus story you’ve seen to date; we’re not going to say that it will offer up answers as to their identity (the CW trend tends to be revealing such things before a lengthy hiatus), but it will feature characters hot on the trail, doing their best detective work. Ironically, the people responsible for this will not be any of the people actually employed as detectives.
Synopsis – “When Prometheus ups his killing spree, Oliver (Stephen Amell) searches for connections between the victims. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) discover the victims have a mysterious link to Oliver’s past and this new secret could upend his new team. Meanwhile, Thea (Willa Holland) has a heart-to-heart with Lance (Paul Blackthorne), and Felicity considers telling Malone (guest star Tyler Ritter) the truth about her work.”
Ironically, Detective Malone hasn’t been able to detect everything about his new girlfriend, even though he’s gotten so much closer to precisely what she does over time. Sooner or later, she’s gotta realize that secrets = bad news, especially given that Oliver’s own secret about his past is one of the reasons why their own relationship started to fall apart. She not only has to learn from her own mistakes; she’s gotta learn from his.
We’ll be back with some further insight when the promo’s released, since that should give us more of a concrete sense as to how this episode will play out. For now, let’s just profess joy that “Arrow” continues to kill it this season with the storytelling.
Promo – We’ve got it now below! It’s clear that Prometheus is out for blood, and one thing that we especially like at the moment is the juxtaposition between what Prometheus is doing now with his own list of targets and what Oliver was doing back when he was more of a violent vigilante in season 1. We were promised a throwback, and we’re getting it!
