Chicago PD: Episode 4 Preview – Atwater’s brother, a concert shooting, and chaos

Tonight, “Chicago PD” arguably gave us one of the most powerful episodes of the season, and a momentous one in particular for Amy Morton as Trudy Platt. Her life was on the line, and this was a story of heroics as we saw whether or not she, with the help of her family at Intelligence, emerge.

Next week, we are going into “Big Friends Big Enemies,” an episode that could contain a little bit of family drama as we’re getting to meet more of Atwater’s family, this time in the form of his brother. We’re also going to see once again a case that causes Chicago to erupt; the delicate relationship between the PD and the public was made clear in “Justice” earlier this year, and that unrest is not set to dissipate soon.

Synopsis – “When a car plows through a crowd of concert goers and gunfire erupts, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) are on the scene. Unsure of the motive and concerned a terrorist group may be responsible, Voight (Jason Beghe) orders in Homeland security, customs and the F.B.I. to assist. At the same time, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) spots Atwater’s (LaRoyce Hawkins) brother, Jordan (guest star Ahmad Nicholas Ferguson), out where he shouldn’t be. The team use their connections to throughout the city to bring some peace to the community before more blood is shed.”

Promo – We wish this offered up a tremendous amount of insight into the story, but the reality here is that it feels more like a commercial to watch Voight make terrifying threats. We get it, but it would have been nice to have further context. Boo at NBC for continuing to make promos so short.
