Game of Thrones: Season 6 – Filming & Casting News

1Filming will soon be underway [sic] in the Magilligan/Binevanagh region, Co. Derry, for Game of Thrones season 6.

The Northern Irish location was also used last season for Daenerys’ final scene with Drogon and the Dothraki, as far as we can tell. The Derry Journal reports that filming will take place on Binevanagh Mountain on Saturday July 25th, and the crew will depart the location on Monday.

2Moneyglass also looks like it is being reused for location shooting. The Antrim townland was used last season to house the new Winterfell set. It is likely that it is being used for the same purpose this time around.

In other news, it seems as though one of the roles we exclusively brokelast month has still not been cast.

Lord of Noble Northern House: (Aged 25 – 40).

He is a “big tall crazy Hell’s Angel type of character“, who must be well over 6 feet tall, or at the very least 180cm.
He is a savage warrior who rules a powerful and distinguished house in the very far north.
He is a bear of a man with a beard and temper to match, with a hatred that runs deep.
He must have a “BIG powerful physique”, and must tower over other cast members.
He is known to be violent.
He has a very dry wit and an element of swagger to him.
He is “pretty spectacular on the battlefield”.
