Typically with these “Legends of Tomorrow” episode previews, we have the gift of an extraordinary context. However, that’s not the case when it comes to the show’s next new episode on December 1. We’re not going to have an installment next week due to the show being off for the Thanksgiving holiday, but rest assured — there will be more good stuff around the bend soon!
Specifically, we’re talking about the four-part crossover between this show, “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and “Supergirl.” The “Legends of Tomorrow” episode will be the final part of the saga, and the title “Invasion!” is shared with every one of these shows other than “Supergirl.” Our sentiment is that this show probably will have a little less to do with the crossover than the others. The big threat of this story is the Dominators, an alien race attempting to come to Earth and take away the powers of many meta-humans for the sake of their own use. Suffice it to say, there will be some necessary teamwork if our heroes ever want to get on the other side in one piece.
Synopsis – “After learning the Dominators’ plan for the world, the Legends must work together with The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) and Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) to kill them once and for all. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) figures out, with the help of others, how the team can terminate the Dominators, but is distracted by the aberration he realizes he created in 1987.”
There should be at least one episode of “Legends of Tomorrow” after this, given that we’ve heard that Captain Cold will be appearing for the first time this season in the winter finale. We don’t get any sense of him showing up here per the information that’s been released.
Above all else, the only thing we hope for out of this crossover is entertainment, and a story that makes at least some sense beyond just cool opportunities to see worlds colliding with various characters.
